'Gateway' to Singer Island Project Could Soon Be In The Works

FINALLY!  Plans are being considered to replace the dilapidated Singer Island Yacht Club, which is located at the island-side bottom of the Blue Heron Bridge.  Though approval must still come from the City Council, the Planning and Zoning Board and the Riviera Beach CRA, just about everybody is happy to see change upon us.

The proposal from Singer Island Gateway LLC is to develop 1.85 acres of residential and mixed-use land into an eight-story, 135 unit luxury condominium, including below grade parking, a civic public space with access to the Intracoastal Waterway and a new, contempory marina with 16 public boat slips.  The $55 million project anticipates creation of up to 260 full-time jobs over the 18-month construction schedule.

Sounds great and, if all thumbs go up during the approval process, construciton should begin in 2017. Said Councilwoman Dawn S. Pardo, who represents the island: "This is the 'gateway to Singer Island' project we need.'
